Our mission is to bring together like-minded Kiwi VAs, raise the visibility and profile of the VA community, and provide our members with a safe place to support one another.

Like most great ideas, this one had been brewing for a while

Virtual Assistants, Business Support Service Providers, Freelance Administrators, Independent EAs, Remote PAs … we have all manner of titles and taglines, but our passion for adding value to our client’s busy days is what brings us together.

But up until 2019 there was no where locally for this diverse group of business owners to actually … well … come together.

A small seed of an idea grew mighty roots!

After accidentally tumbling headfirst into the world of virtual assistance in 2015, Samantha Browne grew her own VA business - My Girl Friday - into a thriving, in-demand service.

Sam was hooked at the freedom and flexibility of being a VA. She could enjoy a satisfying career AND care for her young family.

But, at times Sam found working on her own from home bloody lonely. She craved connection, water cooler banter, and business comradery.

That’s when the idea for VANNZ sprouted

Never one to shy away from a challenge (or three), in 2019 Sam founded the VANNZ which quickly became the go-to resource for NZ business owners to easily find their match made in VA heaven.

Sam truly believes our VA Community is stronger when we work together … and the unprecedented growth and success of the VANNZ is proof that community reigns supreme over competition any day of the week.

NZ Virtual Assistants really are the best in the world!

Our flourishing community now has over 3,000 members - huge considering the size of NZ haha!

From humble beginnings as a simple Facebook Group, the VANNZ quickly became a one-stop-shop for New Zealand’s VAs with an incredible range of benefits for its Members.

Our Founder

As our community has grown, so too has Sam’s position as a leader and mentor in the VA industry.

In 2020, Sam joined forces with Jo Jensen to host the first NZ Virtual Assistant Summit - bringing together a stellar line up of speakers and VAs eager to grow their businesses.

Since then, Sam has joined Jo as a business partner in the The VA Foundry. Together they help VAs to grow their own in-demand businesses, through courses, coaching, a mastermind, retreat and of course their very own podcast - The Sam & Jo VA Show.
